That Look

Remember that look that your mother gave you when you had stepped out of line? Remember that look that said 'I am NOT going to wait until your father gets home, kiddo!' It is the look of the 'all-woman/all-mother.' It is the look of fearless strength and defense-to-the-death attitude that women keep deep in the essence of their being. It is the look that clearly sends the message, "Don't make me go there." Well, it looks as though my granddaughter is already beginning to master that look.

And, of course, as every good grandmother knows, the best toys do not come from 'Toys R Us' or any other toy store.

  2. Great post...love the pictures...she is so adorable, and obviously is going to be a force to be reckoned with! : )

True, true about the toys....I always think about my kid's obsession with all of the boxes that their b'day gifts came in!

  4. We have a big box from our new dishwasher out back and I can't seem to throw it away because it seems wasted. A little kid so needs it.

I'm amazed how early feelings and emotions and their expressions come into play with little kids. Bryce is a year old and you can read his face like a book.

  6. Oh what a captivating child! I just wanted to reach down and pick her up from your photo. She may be mastering 'that look', but she does it so charmingly.

  8. What a confection of a face. My grandkids love boxes to play it too, house, train, a hideout. It's great to see the world through their eyes.
