On the Road Again

Off today for the 50 mile drive up to wash and paint the kid's kitchen and utility room, spackle a crack in the living room ceiling and if time, paint that, and then pick up the fence parts and posts that Home Depot failed to deliver.

Yes, Mage, I will post about the word "No,"  in a few days.

  1. RYN: You can, if you can afford it, hire someone to do the painting. There are always alternatives to wearing yourself out. Hugs from here.

  2. I'm not going to cast a stone at you for not saying "no." A few years ago our son asked for advice on selling his house and I spent two days and seven hundred dollars staging it. Strange how when that house sold he didn't think to reimburse me the seven hundred dollars.

  4. Good luck, and you will be rewarded, i'm sure, for all you've done for them.

  5. I will add
have done all of this - when your age -
with building, buying and selling homes in the past.
Tiring but loved the outcome and
now 10 or 12 years later
might do some of it :)
No one I know at my age
do some of the things I still do.
We will know when we can no longer do something and hopefully wise enought not to do it.
    So far
do not think I have obtained a lot of wisdom :)

  6. I hope your kids appreciate all this. My daughter would want you to adopt her.

  7. I can understand your decision for helping. Being estranged from my son for the past 6 years I would do anything to have him back and give anything in order to keep him there. Bless you for being such a wonderful, caring parent.
