Dedicated Servants

So thankful to all the policemen and policewomen and firefighters and medics that gave up their holiday yesterday to keep us all safer.

Just thought I would add some photos of future dedicated dudes, you know, the preview of help to come. I was sitting on one of the tiny local beaches with grandson when a larger boat anchored at the side of the channel and these young men jumped in the water and swam towards us.

The shallow shore can have pockets of sea nettles (stinging jelly fish) this time of year, so these guys were pretty brave.

Maybe it was ignorance, because as I heard their conversations, they were not too smart about the waters because they were complaining about the jelly fish.

When they reached the beach we talked to them and realized they were taking the afternoon off after a day of training at the Sheriff's office...our future Deputies.

I feel safer already, and other stuff...;-)

  1. Well, at least you know that if a lifeguard isn't handy, these guys are good swimmers.

  3. You also know, if it ever becomes needed, they may complain about the jellyfish, but they will get in the water anyway if they have to.

  4. At least if jellyfish commit crimes these guys will know where to find them.

  5. A bar of soap lessens the sting of the nettles. But they can be nasty.

  6. Lucky we don't get many jellyfish until late summer here. That must be an estuary area like the back beach here. I haven't even taken time to toe dip once yet- Far too busy. Maybe i'll get to the new beach area at some point soon tho- Here comes the humid hot air again!

  7. LOL You are so funny. You have been sounding a bit grumpy lately, but here you seem better. Me...I've just been turning off my brain and keeping on keeping on. Hugs....and do they know about nettles now?

  8. We went out sea kayaking today in Reeds Bay in Hilo, Hawaii. We saw turtles! And little fish!
